This is a well-developed story that has been thought through by the author. She combined elements or reality and fantasy that readers can relate to. Fast-paced and engaging, although there were times when too much information is given that you can't possible remember all of them. I had an especially hard time remembering the names, but I like the glossary where the pronunciation of names were given. I'm not so sure if I like Anna because most of the time she was just obsessing over Kaidan. Described as a goody goody, but when presented with dilemma, she usually falls short of what's expected of her. She can be a damsel in distress because her "lovers" are always there to save her.
I like the concept, and I'm willing to read the next books in the series.
